A Cloud chamber is a device that allows the visualization of tracks made by charged subatomic particles, such as α decay. Cloud chambers work by creating by supersaturating alcohol in air.
In this figure you can see a Polonium 210 α source in the cloud chamber built at Georgia Tech. The red puck is the size of a quarter dollar coin and the yellow arrows indicate the tracks left by two α particles.
